RESERVATIONS & FEES

Although we are mostly known for elegant weddings, SC Society Hall is suitable for a wide range of special events including lectures, board meetings, luncheons, cocktail parties, baby showers, photo shoots, recitals, graduations, corporate gatherings and more.


BASIC FEES (includes use of first floor & ballroom):
Friday & Saturday $7,000
Sunday $6000
Monday – Thursday $4000

DISCOUNTS: Discounts available to nonprofit organizations and low impact/smaller events.

ADDITIONAL FEES: Use of staging and larger furnishings are allowed but subject to an additional fee, up to $2000, due to the increased impact on our historic building. Add-on staging fees, if assessed, will be invoiced separately from your rental agreement.

INSURANCE: All event hosts are required to provide proof of general liability insurance and host liquor liability insurance (if alcohol will be served) with South Carolina Society Hall listed as a named insured on a Certificate of Insurance (COI). Click here for more insurance info and an easy online option for securing your insurance. *Please note that if you have a rental contract signed prior to the existence of this new policy, we will deduct the insurance cost from your final payment due in order to offset this additional cost.

WHAT’S INCLUDED: The rental fee covers events of up to five hours. Additional time must be approved in advance by the venue manager. No extensions will be allowed without prior approval. The time frames cover the event only. Plenty of time will be allowed before the event to set up and afterwards for your caterers and planners to wrap up.

Please note: All items not belonging to the Hall must be removed immediate following event.

The Basic fee includes optional use of our furniture:

  • 60 Queen Anne chairs
  • 15 six-foot rectangular folding tables
  • and one 42-inch round table (normally used as a wedding cake table)

TEMPORARY HOLDS: We will be happy to reserve your date on a tentative basis for one month. There is no charge for this service. If during the month someone else asks for your date, you will be given 5 days to commit or surrender the date. If you have not locked the date after those 5 days, your temporary hold will be dropped automatically and the hall will be available for rent by someone else.

RESERVATIONS: A deposit of $500 is required to lock in a date. The reservation deposit is not refundable, but is applied to final payment of your rental fee.

PAYMENTS:  Final payment (including a security deposit if required) is due two weeks before the event, and personal checks or money orders (made out to SC SOCIETY) will be happily accepted until then. We also now accept credit cards if you wish to pay online.
